Refugee Services

Innovative, Responsive,
& Dignified Relief

The Chicago Refugee Coalition is committed to providing multi-faceted services that address the unique needs of refugees as they transition into life in a new environment. Our approach is guided by respect, dignity, and inclusivity, ensuring that all refugees are empowered to succeed.

Our work focuses on supporting new arrivals in a post-resettlement context. The modern refugee resettlement system provides ninety days of post-arrival support; however, there are significant needs that go unaddressed and compound over time. Our model seeks to extend the integration runway to allow refugee families to have a sound and secure base of support to rebuild their lives.

Food Security & Resource Distribution

Food security is essential as refugees work toward stable, independent lives in new communities. CRC’s programs distribute nutritious food and critical resources to help families overcome immediate challenges while fostering long-term health and self-sufficiency.

Our new and improved resource center model, opening in late spring 2025, provides a streamlined approach for refugees to access essential items. Refugees can drop in for immediate support or place an order online to have their items packaged and ready for easy pick-up at their convenience. With this model, we aim to provide a flexible, accessible, and community-centered solution to meet refugees’ evolving needs.

Financial Literacy Training

Sponsored by Citi Bank, our financial literacy training equips refugees with the knowledge and skills to manage finances confidently. Through these trainings, individuals learn essential budgeting, saving, and banking practices that lay the foundation for financial stability in their new lives.

Little Harbor Academy

Little Harbor Academy is CRC’s pioneering refugee childcare center, designed to support working parents and ensure children have a safe, nurturing environment. As the first of its kind, Little Harbor Academy is more than a daycare—it is a foundation for learning, growth, and community connection, promoting early development and stability for refugee children.
