Yasmeen Sheikah
Director
Yasmeen Sheikah is a Palestinian-American Journalist and Producer with WGN-Radio. Sheikah graduated with her bachelors degree from Columbia College Chicago in 2020 and is the co-creator of Second City; Second Home.

Connor Mautner
Executive producer
Connor Mautner is the Founder and Managing Director of the Chicago Refugee Coalition. The grandchild of Jewish refugees, Mautner often heard stories of his grandfather's displacement from occupied Czechoslovakia when he was a young boy.

​He believes that the power of storytelling can bring us closer together while elevating a platform for those whom are often not heard.

Claire Gelalich
Associate Curator
Claire Gelalich comes with a background in writing, non-profit management, documentaries, development, and transforming big ideas into action.

After teaching in Tanzania and Spain, she 
returned to the States to pursue her Masters in Business Administration. She currently works at National Geographic in the Expeditions Department, and is driven with the belief that collaboration and global stories drive innovation
​and change.

Steeg Pierce
Associate curator
Steeg has a background in economics from the University of Chicago and works in finance in the Loop. His passion for the well-being of immigrants and refugees comes from having a mother who immigrated to the United States. Steeg sits on the Education, Administration of Justice, and state and Local Government subcommittees of the Union League Club of Chicago's Public Affairs Committee and volunteers at a food pantry on Chicago's West Side. He also maintains a website and writes a newsletter focused on making effective public policy for everyone.
