In Pursuit of greater Understanding

Research is what makes us unique. We believe in asking big questions in order to tackle some of the most pressing problems in the fields of resettlement, conflict studies, human rights, and community development. We believe that through a foundation based on honest inquiry and thoughtful research we can collectively dedicate our resources to work towards more effective and impactful outcomes while advocating for change where it is needed most.

Current  research  focuses

income Elasticity in Refugee households

We believe that data driven research is paramount to developing smarter, more complete, policy. At present, the Chicago Refugee Coalition provides sustainable food packs for nearly 150 food insecure refugees in the Chicagoland area. It is estimated that the annual economic impact for these individual households totals $196,000 USD annually. We're seeking to measure how these households are reapportioning their income in hopes of better advising policymakers and ensuring efficient expenditure of public dollars on programing that impacts this community.

LGBTQ+ rights in Chechnya

LGBTQ+ rights are human rights. Reports dating from as early as April 2017 have documented the latest development in Chechnya's anti-LGBTQ+ policy to the extent that regional governments have opened concentration camps for men and boys suspected of being members of the LGBTQ+ community. As an organization that is dedicated to the alleviation of human suffering, our organization seeks to closely monitor the sociopolitical developments in this region as it pertains to LGBTQ+ rights and livelihood.

Somali Refugees in Kenya

The Somali Civil War has been raging for nearly three decades.

Global Security & the Refugees crisis

Are refugees a national security risk? Does mass migration pose a risk to existing governing structures and international bodies such as the European Union?
The Chicago Refugee Coalition is a 501(c)(3) non-profit (EIN: 83-0977387), non-partisan, secular organization committed to the alleviation of human suffering through innovative research, advocacy, and community development.
Thank you for your interest and support of our organization.
